The Wichita State Men's Basketball Team got off to a good start, taking the lead early, building it to double digits, and holding on for a wire-to-wire win over East Carolina 77-60 at Charles Koch Arena. The Shockers were dominant on the glass, pulling down a season-high 49 total rebounds.
A big night for Shocker guard Kenyon Giles; 27 points, five 3 pointers, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Michael Gray Jr. chipped in 12 points, four rebounds and four assists and Dillon Battie added 10 points and five rebounds. Also a key to the Shocker win, the defensive effort of Karon Boyd. Boyd had the lion's share of covering the AAC's leading scorer Jordan Riley. Riley averages 22 points a game, but was held to 15 in Wednesday night's game.
Next up for Wichita State, a home matchup with Memphis on Saturday at 3 p.m.
