Shocker Men's Basketball team on the road yesterday in North Carolina facing ECU, and it was a marathon. It was back and forth in the first half, Wichita State getting on the scoreboard first, then East Carolina overtaking and building a lead of their own.

But Shocker Guard Kenyon Giles came up big, converting on a 3-pointer, getting fouled, and tying it with a free throw.
And in overtime, Giles heroics kept WSU alive once again. Shockers down by 2 with just 5 seconds left, ECU has to inbound. But Wichita forced the turnover on the inbound pass, Giles gathered up loose ball and hit a jumper tying the game at 78.
And the Shockers regained the lead in 2nd overtime when TJ Williams converted on a layup, drawing the foul and draining his free throw. And WSU would hold on for a 92-89 double overtime win. Williams led the Shocker scoring with 27 points, followed by Giles with 24. And WSU is now 3-1 in overtime games this season.
The Shockers improve to 17-10, 9-5 and still tied for 2nd in the AAC. Wichita State returns home to face Temple on Saturday for Champions Weekend and Mike Kennedy Night, celebrating the storied career of the long time Shocker play-by-play announcer.
