The AfterShocks' bid to defend their TBT championship came to an emotional end Monday night, as JHX Hoops knocked off the Wichita State alumni team 64-59 in a game filled with fights, technical fouls and ejections.
The rivalry matchup at Koch Arena was intense from the opening tip, but tensions erupted late in the first half when players from both teams became involved in an altercation following a rebound. The incident led to multiple ejections, including Rashard Kelly for the AfterShocks and Mario Chalmers for JHX. Additional players tossed from the game included James Woodard, Morris Udeze, Chaunce Jenkins and Q.J. Peterson for the AfterShocks, along with Jamari Traylor, Kevin Young and Tra'Deon Hollins for JHX.

The physical play continued after halftime, with another confrontation breaking out in the third quarter that resulted in more technical fouls.
Despite the chaos, the game remained close throughout. The AfterShocks held a 27-25 lead at halftime before JHX battled back to take a 45-44 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
With the game reaching the Elam Ending and the target score set at 64, both teams traded baskets until former Kansas standout Frank Mason buried a long three-pointer from the Wichita State logo to seal the victory for JHX.

The loss ends the AfterShocks' title defense, while JHX advances to the TBT semifinals, where the Kansas alumni team will face Kentucky alumni squad La Familia for a spot in the championship game.
