The Wichita State baseball team picked up a win over an intrastate rival on a cloudy windy night at Eck Stadium, as the Shockers shut down Kansas State 5-1.

WSU freshman pitcher Jace Kaminski picked up his first collegiate win, working five innings and allowing zero earned runs and only three hits.

It marked the start of a four-game homestand for Wichita State this week; the Shockers have won two of their past three games, and are now 9-8 on the season.

WSU sr. left fielder Corrigan Bartlett from Maize got two more hits in the game, raising his batting average this season to .409.

Mike Kennedy had the live call of the game on 97.5 & 1240 KFH.
