Wofford faces Wichita State for a non-conference matchup

Wofford heads to Wichita, Kansas, on Wednesday night for a non-conference showdown with Wichita State, marking the first meeting between the teams this season. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. EST.

The Shockers enter the matchup with a 6-5 overall record and have been strong at home, posting a 5-1 mark in Wichita. They’ve been particularly effective on the offensive glass, ranking second in the AAC with 12.8 offensive rebounds per game, led by Will Berg’s 3.0 per contest.

Wofford comes in at 7-4 overall and has split its six road games this season. The Terriers have relied on perimeter shooting, though they rank eighth in the Southern Conference at 31.4% from three-point range.

Statistically, the teams are closely matched. Wichita State averages 7.5 made three-pointers per game, just slightly above the 7.3 Wofford typically allows. The Terriers are shooting 41.9% from the field this season, identical to the percentage Wichita State opponents have averaged.

Over their last 10 games, Wichita State is 5-5, averaging 76.6 points, 35.9 rebounds and 11.3 assists per game while holding opponents to 67.6 points. Wofford has gone 7-3 in that span, putting up 77.3 points per game and allowing 74.6, setting the stage for a competitive non-conference clash.
