There was a 12-ton mountain of trash in downtown LA's Fashion District that was cleaned up after one phone call to Mayor Eric Garcetti.
Business owners contacted NBC4 this week to show them a building on East Pico Boulevard that was a dumping ground for trash and included rats and flies.
The news was originally reported in an NBC4 story Thursday.
They said there were repeated 3-1-1 calls and nothing happened -- to the point that the trash was spilling into the public.
There were also homeless individuals living among the mess, which would cause a further health hazard for everyone involved.
NBC4 spoke to Garcetti Thursday and the trash was promptly cleaned up overnight, taking 25 workers all night to haul away all the filth.
KNX reporter Craig Fiegener was there Friday morning and it appears as though all the trash has been carted away.
