School officials at Texas A&M University have asked students and staff to shelter in place after a shooting took place in one of its dormitories.
Two people have been confirmed killed and another was taken to the hospital, according to the university. All three were gunshot victims.
Pride Rock Residence Hall is a dorm for first-year students.
All classes have been canceled on the Commerce campus.
Active criminal investigation at Pride Rock. Shelter in place until further notice. All classes are canceled for the remainder of the day and evening at the A&M-Commerce campus.Additional sheltering space is available at the Club and in the ballrooms at Rayburn Student Center.
