Blue Ivy Carter Wins Award at Age 7

She's taking after her uber-successful parents and songwriters.

Blue Ivy Carter, the seven-year-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay Z won her very first award:  the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award at Sunday’s Soul Train Awards.

The award was for helping co-write Beyonce's hit “Brown Skin Girl." 

She and her parents weren't at the awards. The song features Blue Ivy's voice at the beginning and end of the song, which is featured in the 2019 live-action "The Lion King" soundtrack.
