The California Highway Patrol has released a video of a road rage incident in Whittier and is hoping that someone can provide a clue as to who tried to allegedly shoot at the driver of an SUV on the 605 Freeway.
The incident happened on May 3. The incident began when an SUV driver cut off a man driving a gray 2016 to 2019 Nissan Maxima.
CHP Officer Marcos Iniguez, with the Santa Fe Springs Station, said a woman was behind the two cars and videotaping the incident.
The man in the Nissan allegedly began throwing things, spraying pepper spray at the van, and then dramatically things escalated. The video shows the person in the gray car allegedly firing a shot. The driver of the SUV was not injured but the CHP wants to charge the other driver with assault with a deadly weapon and possibly attempted murder.
Anyone who was on that stretch of the road, and who might be able to ID the car or driver, is asked to call the Santa Fe Springs CHP office.
