The city of Los Angeles and other officials are warning the public to heed the Stay-at-Home orders as the weather continues to warm up this week and into the weekend.
Both the city and the county's Stay at Home orders are in effect until May 15.
The highs this weekend will be in the 90s in the Los Angeles area. Officials are warning people not to flock to the beaches and hiking trails.
Parking lots at LA County beaches are closed and so are the beaches.
During a Wednesday night briefing alongside the Mayor of Los Angeles, LAPD Police Chief Michel Moore also stressed the need to practice social distancing as the weather continues to warm up. Law enforcement will issue tickets if someone defies the orders and hits the beach anyway.
"And save the police the awkwardness of us having to admonish and advise and direct you about something you already know," he said in the Wednesday night briefing.
The city of LA and the Department of Recreation and Parks will have cooling centers open this weekend for the hot and high-temperature days.
The following Rec and Parks' cooling centers will be open Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
