
The Music Center Plaza will re-open today with free public festivities through the Labor Day weekend.
Announced by The Music Center, it was a 20 month and $41 million renovation of the outdoor space, according to The Music Center press release.
The plaza will be pedestrian-friendly and outdoor urban space with five new buildings, three dining locations and public restrooms. Not only that but there will also be a return of The Music Center Plaza fountain.
The three new dining options include Abernethy’s, a full-service restaurant, The Mullin Wine Bar, and Los Angeles-based coffee bar Go Get Em Tiger.
The funding for the $41 million project came from the county, which provided $30 million. The Music Center raised more than $10 million in private funds and is raising $1 million for LED screens, according to the press release on the Music Center website.
