It was a case of the wrong place at the wrong time for a man who got caught under a falling tree in the mid-city area, as the early morning rain hit the area.

The man, who was described by authorities as a transient, was living under the tree in Echo Park.
Trapped under the tree for nearly 30 minutes, the man suffered only minor injuries and refused further medical attention at a hospital.
Meanwhile, building inspectors are checking out the apartment complex to see if the falling tree did any significant damage.
