LA-Based Pair Launches Pet Evacuation App

With all the fires happening around California, two women decided to create a faster way for people to evacuate their pets.

Morgan Walston and Amanda Baudo launched the app Evac-U-Pet. All pet-owners need to do is register their animals and give their information.

The app was created after the Sand Fire in 2016, but it took the pair three years to officially launch.

Working with app developer Kelly Bakst, the app is described as an Uber for animal rescue.

Evac-U-Pet was used to help evacuate animals during the Saddle Ridge Fire, and the pair say they successfully rescued at least two dozen animals.

The app is only available for LA County residents for now, but there's hope the pair can launch to other markets.

The app is available on iPhones and Androids. And you can volunteer to transport animals if you're open to sheltering them as well.

If you're looking for an evacuation center for your animals during the Getty Fire, here's the latest information.
