LeBron James Producing Docuseries on Houston Astros Cheating Scandal

LeBron James is looking to bring everyone's attention to one of the biggest scandals in baseball of the last few years.

The Los Angeles Laker is set to produce a new docuseries about the Houston Astros sign-stealing controversy that took place in 2017, reported Variety.

The project is entitled "Sign Language" and is set to air on the new short-form video streaming platform Quibi.

"The documentary will transcend the baseball diamond to explore larger themes of greed, cheating, corruption, sportsmanship and social media activism," said Quibi in a press release. "Sign Language will be the definitive documentary about the scandal that rocked America's pastime."

The scandal came to light after former Astros pitcher Mike Fiers revealed his fellow teammates were involved in a widespread sign-stealing campaign. The Astros used cameras placed in center field which allowed their hitters to view the opposing team's catcher's signs in real time, reported NBC Los Angeles.

After an investigation, Astros' manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Lunhow were both suspended and eventually fired. While many players were involved, none were penalized.

While the Astros wound up beating the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, once news of the scandal came to light many claimed the win was illegitimate.

A release date for "Sign Language" has yet to be revealed.
