There are certain locations you probably don't want to park in the Los Angeles area if you don't want a parking citation.

According to a new study from Crosstown, a non-profit news organization covering the neighborhoods of Los Angeles through data, Hollywood, Downtown and Westlake are the three top neighborhoods where citations are issued.

"But the numbers were down 7%, 24% and 19%, respectively, compared with the same period last year," the story by authors Ethan Ward and Coco Huang on Crosstown said.

For example, the top five reasons to receive a ticket in LA was for street cleaning (327,462), expired meter (152,525),  red zone (95,196), preferential parking (74,427), and display of tabs (63,363).

Most likely place to get a parking ticket— downtown #LosAngeles. 105,000 people cited so far this year— 55,000 #parkingtickets written in #Hollywood. Most common reason: an expired meter. Last fiscal year parking fines generated $142 million for LA’s city budget. pic.twitter.com/YJxrtWPD38
