Groups of demonstrators met up in downtown Los Angeles Monday for a memorial service honoring George Floyd.
A hearse will lead a funeral procession-style demonstration from Reseda to the memorial service in downtown LA. Mourners will gather from four different groups and meet in downtown LA near Broadway and First streets.
Since Floyd's death almost two weeks ago, there have been protests across Los Angeles and SoCal with the majority of them ending up being peaceful in recent days protesting police brutality and condemning racism.
His funeral and burial will be in Houston this week.
Numerous larger cities across the U.S. imposed curfews last Saturday as they faced more protesters and looting in the face of Floyd's death and President Trump's response to dealing with looters. Just last week, charges were also brought against the other three Minneapolis police officers who were on the scene during Floyd's death. Additional charges were also filed against ex-cop Derek Chauvin.
