Ohio House ousts Republican speaker as its top leader in historic vote after his arrest in alleged $60M bribery scheme.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, federal officials arrested Ohio House Speaker Larry Householder and four others in connection with a $60 million bribery case on July 21. 

Although multiple sources confirmed Householder’s arrest, U.S. Attorney David DeVillers’ office would not discuss details of the case.

Former Ohio GOP Chairman Matt Borges, longtime Householder adviser Jeff Longstreth, and lobbyists Neil Clark and Juan Cespedes also were arrested, the sources confirmed.
