Crews have completely surrounded the fire in Castaic after several homes were burned Thursday.
It is now 100 percent contained.
A five to seven-acre fire was burning in the Castaic area Thursday afternoon. At least five homes have been lost according to fire officials Thursday afternoon.
This fire is different than the Tick Fire burning near Santa Clarita. It's burning north of Lake Hughes Road.
Northbound 5 freeway was closed at Hasley Canyon due to the fire, according to the CHP Newhall Twitter. The tweet said to use State Route 126 westbound to 101 as an alternative.
The northbound freeway is now open.
