Police have arrested a man in the Hollywood Hills in connection to a deadly hit and run in the Fairfax district last week.
The LAPD says the 26-year old suspect was booked on suspicion of felony hit and run and was released after posting bond.
Last week, the hit-and-run driver was being sought by the police.
The driver ran over a pedestrian in a crosswalk in the Fairfax District and then took off.
The victim was crossing the street at Melrose and Genesee Avenues just after 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night as a vehicle approached.
LAPD Officer Lizette Lomeli says "an unidentified driver of a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a small-sized SUV, was driving westbound on Melrose when the vehicle collided with a pedestrian walking north in the crosswalk."
The driver did not stop and paramedics were unable to revive the victim who died.
