The representative for California's 33rd congressional district since 2015, Ted Lieu stopped by the KNX studios to chat with hosts Mike Simpson and Rob Archer.

Lieu opens the conversation discussing President Trump's "rocky performance" at the G-7, and the president's unyielding push to include Russian president Vladamir Putin in the Summit. "There's no reason for Russia to be in the G-7," Lieu said.

Lieu continued to talk about the U.S. economy and the China tariffs.

But it's when Lieu talks about getting Trump's tax returns that things start to heat up. "I'm very sure we will get Donald Trump's tax returns, it's just a matter of when," Rep. Lieu said.

Lieu admits he's extremely active on Twitter -- he jokes that "it's all based on anger." He has two accounts, one that represents his role as Congressman, and one that reflects his own personal views. "We can not normalize what is not normalize," Lieu says about his tweets reacting against Trump. "If the president is going to do 37 crazy things in a week, I think we should call out all 37 crazy things."

When it comes to gun control, Lieu tells the hosts Congress will be working on a bill to put pressure on Mitch McConnel and the U.S. Senate to pass background checks legislation.
