Twenty-seven people have been put under observation after being in contact with the Washington man who tested positive for the coronavirus.
The coronavirus, which originated in Wuhan, China, has so far killed 26 people and sickened hundreds of others. The government has begun canceling some public events related to the celebration of the Lunar New Year.
China has not only started to build a new 1,000-bed hospital to tackle the new virus but also shut down 13 cities off from the world. Those include Wuhan, and 12 other cities in central China's Hubei province.
Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, a sick traveler on a flight from Mexico City was taken to the hospital Wednesday night.
That person is still quarantined.
