As Trump Derides Fox News, Barr Meets Privately with Murdoch

According to the New York Times, Wednesday night Attorney General William P. Barr met with Rupert Murdoch -- the same day Fox News reported unfavorable polling info on President Trump.

On Thursday, President Trump tweeted his criticism of Fox News after a Fox News poll revealed that 51 percent of Americans approve of an impeachment inquiry of the president, and want him removed from office. Four percent want him impeached but not removed, and 40 percent oppose impeachment altogether. 

The visit between Barr and Murdoch took place at Murdoch's home in New York, and there've been no reports released about what was discussed. 

Fox News has historically offered its unvarnished support of the president, but recently the station appears to have taken a turn, and become increasingly more critical.
