Transportation Security Administration officers found a bit more than they expected at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport Monday when they discovered a missile launcher in a checked bag.

TSA immediately contacted airport police, who tracked down the traveler and detained him for investigation.

The airline passenger lives in Jacksonville, Texas told authorities he was traveling home from Kuwait, and as active military personnel believed he could keep the launcher as a souvenir.

The launcher was not live, but it was confiscated as military weapons are not permitted in checked or carry-on luggage, according to TSA.

The man was released and allowed to board his flight.
