Beginning Wednesday, the public will have to wear a face mask covering when going to essential businesses, pharmacies, and medical appointments in LA County.

The directive for customers to wear cloth mask coverings inside essential businesses already went into effect for the city of Los Angeles last week.

Employees at the essential businesses must also be wearing a face covering. Those essential businesses include grocery stores, pharmacies, doctor's offices and other essential businesses.

Starting tomorrow, it’s mandatory to wear a face covering when you go to an essential business, including grocery shopping or going to a medical appointment. You can make your own mask or use a scarf, bandana, or old shirt. Thanks for keeping yourself and your community safe! pic.twitter.com/05j3cRgyZv

Last week, the county of LA extended its Stay at Home order until May 15.

The city of LA followed with the same directive a few hours later.
