(KNX 1070) -- After 30 years at the mic, at the end of this year, Gene "Bean" Baxter will leave KROQ's morning show "Kevin & Bean."

Baxter announced his pending departure in March, but Thursday he sat down with KNX In-Depth to talk about the details.

A British citizen, Baxter says it's a decision that he and his wife have been tossing around for a long time, and after 30 years, now seems like the perfect moment.

Baxter, who was born in Britain, but grew up in Maryland, says the decision to move out of the U.S. was based on several factors. In addition to his love of the European continent, he cited Trump's presidency as one of the reasons he was excited to be going.

Just announced on the @KevinAndBean Show, after 30 years I am leaving the show at the end of the year to move back home to England, the ninth largest island in the world. Much more to come on this. ---- pic.twitter.com/XjPfasWwJw
