
(KNX 1070) -- A Fredrick, Maryland man has been arrested after a 21- month investigation to prove he was intentionally transferring HIV to women he met through online dating.
Since July 2017, police have been collecting evidence on Rudolph Smith, 34, to build a case against the man for having unprotected sex with women without disclosing his diagnosis.
According to WUSA9 Smith was indicted by a grand jury on the following charges:
4 counts: First-degree assault
4 counts: Reckless endangerment
4 counts: Knowing transfer of HIV prohibited
Smith is currently being held on $100,000 at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center.
