(KNX 1070) -- The family of alleged Chabad of Poway synagogue shooting, John T. Earnest, said in a statement Monday they're "shocked and deeply saddened by the terrible attack," and the 19-year-old is now "part of the history of evil that has been perpetrated on Jewish people for centuries."

April 29, 2019 The statement, was released by the family's attorney just two days after Earnest opened fire at the San Diego-area temple, killing one and injuring three -- including an 8-year-old and the temple's rabbi.
The family says Earnest, a Poway resident, was raised in a loving home, and call the alleged act a "terrifying mystery."
Just hours before the attack, it's been reported that Earnest published an anti-semitic manifesto, praising the Christchurch, New Zealand mosque attacker Brenton Tarrant and Rob Bowers, the shooter who killed 11 Jewish parishioners at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh last year.
