(KNX 1070) - There's word now that a Long Beach Police search of a Long Beach neighborhood has finally ended with the arrest of a felony suspect who'd dropped a gun while running from officers.
Lieutenant James Richardson tells KNX there was a lot of manpower deployed after the guy jumped out of his car and took off on foot around 1 a.m. near South Street and Olive Avenue:
"Officers set up a containment around the area and investigation revealed the suspect also had a felony warrant for his arrest. Based on those factors, we activated SWAT to assist with the search."
Reports say the suspect was finally found hiding in a shed on someone's property. People living in the area had been told to shelter-in-place until police gave the all-clear.
