VIDEO: Survey Says Americans Are Very, Very Bored - We Asked Angeles What They Thought

(KNX 1070) -- Americans are bored. And not just a little bored, but bored to the tune of 131 days out of the year bored.

According to a study of 2,000 adults, the average person admitted to being bored 60.48 hours per week.

The survey shows that 60 percent of participants believe their life is just too "grown-up." Seventy-three percent say they long for their childhood years, spending more time with friends, having fewer responsibilities, and going to birthday parties.

"Fun is really about the escape – breaking away from daily stressors and focusing on enjoying the moment," says Colie Edison, Bowlero Corp's Chief Customer Officer, in a statement.

Nearly 40 percent of the participants said that cost was the primary factor in why they didn't leave home, and 35 percent said they were too tired at the end of the workday.

Contrary to the tired and frugal bunch, the survey showed that Americans spend about $303 a month on entertainment or about $3,500 yearly -- parents spend about $5,000 a year.

The survey was conducted by market research firm OnePoll, and sponsored by the bowling alley chain Bowlero.
