Seven World War II veterans received a hero’s sendoff at LAX Tuesday morning.
They survived the bloody battles at Iwo Jima and for many, were going to return to Japan for the first time since they were teenagers and American soldiers in combat.
They will have a 10-day visit to Iwo Jima. The vets were sent off by the TSA choir and honor guard.
The flight to Iwo Jima has stops in Hawaii and Guam before reaching Iwo Jima.
