(KNX 1070) -- This has been the coldest morning of the winter so far in southern California.

It's going to be another cold, windy day across the Southland. Lows will be in the upper 30s to mid-40s

Forecasters are reminding people to keep pets and sensitive plants inside at night to protect against freezing temperatures.

In and around the Ojai Valley, temperatures were between 26 and 32 degrees early Wednesday morning and similar conditions are possible early Thursday morning.

A freeze can kill crops and sensitive vegetation, and harm outdoor pets and livestock. Extended exposure to cold can cause hypothermia. Gusty winds will make driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile vehicles.
