
Tickets distributed for the celebration of life for rapper Nipsey Hussle Thursday at Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles were given out online within minutes.
The musician-turned-south-LA activist was shot last week outside his south LA clothing store.
Doors to the Staple Center event will open at 8 a.m. Thursday -- no pictures or recording will be allowed inside the venue, and no bags larger than 14-by-14 inches, food or beverages are permitted.
The 29-year-old suspect, Eric Holder, was charged with one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. The criminal complaint also includes allegations that he personally used a firearm and caused great bodily injury and death.
LA Police Chief Michel Moore said the suspect got into some type of personal dispute with Hussle outside the south LA store, then left and returned with a handgun.
The free tickets became available Tuesday at 10 a.m. via axs.com but were distributed and gone within minutes.
In an effort to crack down on scalping, the tickets were only available to California residents, ticket holders cannot resell them, transfer them or have them left at will call.
Staples Center president Lee Zeidman tells KNX the ceremony will not be shown on outdoor screens for people who can't get in.
And anyone caught taking photos or video inside the venue may be asked to leave.
