(KNX 1070) -- Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was at UCLA Wednesday outside Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, addressing striking university workers.
Just days ago, Sanders announced he would encourage his own campaign staff to unionize.
University of California research and technical workers have joined in solidarity with healthcare and patient-care employees, in a one-day strike at facilities across the state Wednesday amid contentious contract negotiations.
About 10,000 workers, represented by the University Professional & Technical Employees union, are expected to walk picket lines.
Employees at UCLA are among the thousands of UC workers walking the picket lines today over stalled contract talks.
