(KNX 1070) - A plea deal has been reached in the case involving David and Louise Turpin Friday morning.
They both pled guilty to each of the 14 counts, including one count of torture, according to the Riverside County District Attorney's Twitter.
The agreement means David and Louise Turpin face 25 years to life in prison when they're sentenced in April. Riverside County's District Attorney Mike Hestrin said part of the decision-making was that the kids would not have to testify at trial.
Investigators said all but one of the Turpin siblings were severely malnourished.
They were often chained to their beds and only allowed to shower once a year.
Hestrin said while they were pleased they wouldn't have to testify, they still have the right to do so at sentencing if they so choose.
It is a case that has garnered worldwide attention.
The Turpin's are facing dozens of felony charges combined including torture, child abuse and false imprisonment.
They were arrested in January after their 17-year-old daughter escaped their home with a cell phone and called 911.
She said her parents were abusive and two of her sisters were chained up.
The Riverside County District Attorney at the time said they would punish their children by tying them up, first with ropes, then chains and padlocks.
The alleged abuse included not allowing the siblings to shower more than once a year and taunting them with food they were not allowed to eat.
