(KNX 1070) - A New Jersey man is in hot water after surveillance video shows him falling on purpose and faking a slip at his place of employment.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office has charged him with insurance fraud and theft by deception in a bogus insurance claim.
Alexander Goldinsky, 57, was charged with one count of insurance fraud in the third degree and one count of theft by deception in the third degree for fraudulently filing an insurance claim in a fake slip and fall he orchestrated at a company in Woodbridge, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor Office's press release.
According to the press release, he was was subcontracted to perform work at a company in Woodbridge.
The incident, which happened last year, shows Goldinsky grabbing a cup of ice, walking and then tossing the ice onto the ground, according to the press release. He is shown as walking back over to the ice and slips and falls onto the ground.
Authorities determined that between September 1 and November 1 last year, Goldinsky filed a false insurance claim for the ambulance service and treatment he received at a local hospital for injuries he claimed he sustained, according to the press release.
He was arrested earlier this month and faces a judge in February after he was released with a summons.
The investigation is ongoing.
