Video has surfaced of a newly-rehired sheriff's deputy allegedly trying to break into his former girlfriend's home.
It was released just hours after the LA County Sheriff himself said there was no evidence of an attempted burglary.
A Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy reinstated after being fired due to alleged domestic abuse is seen on newly released video attempting to break into a woman's home.
The video is among records that county officials used to show that Deputy Caren Carl Mandoyan lied to investigators by claiming he never tried to break into the home.
In the video, Mandoyan is seen crouched, wedging a tool in a door frame to pop it loose.
Mandoyan's attorney said his client lived with the woman and was trying to get back inside after he was locked out without keys.
Smith said Mandoyan never assaulted the woman.
Just recently, the struggle between the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the newly elected sheriff over his reinstatement of the deputy, who was fired over domestic abuse allegations, continues to fester.
