
The upcoming, new Harry Potter television series from HBO Max has named its new stars, all newcomers.

Dominic McLaughlin will take over for Daniel Radcliffe as the titular character, Harry Potter.
Arabella Stanton will take over the role of Hermione Granger from Emma Watson and Alastair Stout will be the new Ron Weasley, previously played by Rupert Grint.
“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron,” said Executive Producers Francesca Gardiner and Mark Myold. “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore
Nick Frost as Hagrid
Paapa Essiedu as Professor Severus Snape
Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch
Luke Thallon a Quirinus Quirrell
Janet McTeer as Professor McGonagall
The upcoming television series plans be a more “faithful adaptation” to the novels by J.K. Rowling.
Filming is expected to begin this summer with a release date planned for sometime in either 2026 or 2027.
The series will be streamed exclusively on HBO Max.
