After opening the first Super Nintendo World in Japan last year, the next one is slated to open in 2023 at Universal Studios Hollywood, marking the first of the parks in America.
Nintendo and Universal Parks and Resorts teamed up to create the site based on Nintendo video game franchises, modeled mainly after the Mario franchise and its sub-series. The area, which is under construction in the lower area of the theme park near the Transformers ride, will feature rides, interactive areas, and themed dining & shopping areas.
Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto was heavily involved in the design and construction of the space and its attractions.
A second U.S. Super Nintendo World is in the works at Universal Studios Orlando with a to be announced opening date.
