SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS RADIO) – If his Twitter purchase goes through, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk may want to relocate the platform's headquarters from San Francisco due to the region's "strong left bias

During the Future of the Car Conference hosted by the Financial Times Tuesday, Musk revealed he believes Twitter's headquarters at 1355 Market St. cause the company to lean far-left.

"I think Twitter needs to be much more even-handed. It currently has a strong left bias, because it's based in San Francisco," Musk said in an interview. "I don’t think people out there necessarily intend, or at least perhaps some of them don't intend, to have a left bias, just from their perspective it seems moderate, they're just coming at it from an environment that is very far left."

This implicit bias causes users in the rest of the United States, as well as the world, to lose trust in the social media platform, Musk said. In his idealized Twitter, "victory would be that the most far-right ten percent and the most far left ten percent are equally upset."

Musk's Twitter purchase of $44 billion has not yet been finalized, despite Twitter officials agreeing to the sale in late April.

If the deal goes through and Musk is able to take the social networking service to the level he aspires, he said it "wouldn't be one to receive a lot of praise," it would just "balance the anger."
