1 injured, 1 arrested in East L.A. machete attack

One person was injured and one was arrested Thursday after a fight broke out involving a machete in East Los Angeles, police said.

Officers responded around 1:40 a.m. Thursday to reports of two people arguing in the 1300 block of North Hobart Boulevard in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

"Two people were detained, one male was arrested after two people were fighting with a machete involved," a public information officer with the department told City News Service.

The motive for the fight was unclear, and information about the suspect was not immediately available, police said.

The victim's condition was not disclosed.
