Metro spokesman Dave Sotero told City News Service that Line 81 was waiting at a red traffic signal behind a vehicle. A third vehicle attempting to make a left turn collided with the vehicle, pushing it in front of the bus, resulting in minor damage to the bike rack.

Paramedics dispatched to the scene took one person to a hospital, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"We are grateful that our bus operator and passengers were not injured as a result of a high-speed street accident last night," Sotero said.

Police did not confirm media accounts that the two vehicles were attempting to start a street takeover.

Anyone with additional information on the crash was asked to contact the LA Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-222-8477.
