LOS ANGELES (CNS) - One person was killed and three others injured Sunday morning during a single-vehicle rollover crash at a freeway connector road near Griffith Park, authorities said.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and paramedics rushed three people -- one in grave condition and two in critical condition -- to a hospital, according to Nicholas Prange of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The crash occurred about 12:50 a.m. at a freeway connector from the eastbound Ventura (134) Freeway to the southbound Golden State (5) Freeway, the California Highway Patrol reported.
A white sedan was found on its roof, partially blocking the slow lane. The CHP said the vehicle was "cut apart by fire."
One person was ejected from the vehicle and two others were trapped inside, the Los Angeles Fire Department reported. A fourth made it out on their own.
Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to free the two trapped patients, Prange said.
A representative from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner was called to the scene at 1:56 a.m.
There was no other immediate information available.
