1 pedestrian killed, 1 injured in Van Nuys hit-and-run

One person was killed and another injured Friday in a hit-and-run crash in Van Nuys.

Two pedestrians were struck in the 6900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard around 2:05 p.m. One of them died at the scene, while the other was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries and in unknown condition, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

KCAL9 reported from the scene that the suspect vehicle was a truck.

There was no description immediately available. Police remained on the scene investigating, with a tent covering the body of the fatally injured person late Friday afternoon.
