A suspect in a pharmacy burglary in Beverly Hills was arrested Wednesday and several others were being sought following a pursuit that led authorities to the Willowbrook area.

Officers were sent to the 9700 block of Wilshire Boulevard at about 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Beverly Hills Police Department.

"BHPD received a call from a witness who observed the crime in progress," the BHPD said in a statement. "In less than one minute, responding police officers closed in on the burglary suspects. As officers arrived, the suspects fled in a stolen Dodge Durango Hellcat. A brief vehicle pursuit ensued; however, the suspects managed to evade the responding officers. Officers then requested aerial support to locate and track the suspects."

A Los Angeles Police Department air unit later located the suspect vehicle on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway "traveling at a high rate of speed and without lights," the BHPD said. "BHPD units responded in the direction of the fleeing suspect vehicle. The suspects exited the freeway near LA Live in downtown Los Angeles, leading to an LAPD pursuit."

The pursuit led to Imperial Highway, where four or five suspects got out of the vehicle and ran off, the BHPD said.

A perimeter was established and one suspect was apprehended, while the allegedly stolen vehicle was impounded for evidence, Beverly Hills police said. The exact loss at the pharmacy was still under investigation.

Sergio Ochoa, 18, of Los Angeles was booked on suspicion of commercial burglary, the BHPD said. Anyone with information on the case was urged to call detectives at 310-285-2150.
