Two Hollywood crew unions are heading to the bargaining table together.
The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and Hollywood Basic Crafts, are going to bargain their health and pension benefits together in March when they meet with the studios and streamers.
According to the unions, major priorities include a boost in retirement accrual rates and securing additional streaming-based funding for the plans.
IATSE president Matthew Loeb said a crew strike is a potential option depending on how negotiations shake out.
“Nothing is off the table, and we’re not going to give up our strength and our ability because they think they sapped us and everybody’s bank account got sapped because they were unreasonable for months and months,” Loeb said, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The two unions represent thousands of workers on both coasts.
It’s the first time since 1988 that the IATSE and Hollywood Basic Crafts unions have joined negotiating forces.
In 2021, IATSE workers nearly went on strike, but the union reached a tentative agreement with the studios before it could happen.
