A woman was killed and the alleged shooter then fatally shot himself after a collision in Compton, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department homicide detectives responded to the 900 block of South Central Avenue at around 11:07 p.m. Monday regarding a shots fired call. When they arrived, deputies learned the couple was sitting inside a car in Compton Plaza when the suspect slammed into their car, Fox 11 reported.
The man ran from the car toward a gas station and was wounded when the suspect shot at him. The woman also tried to run away and the suspect shot her before shooting himself, Fox 11 reported.
The woman and the shooter were pronounced dead at the scene by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel. The man who was inside the car was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition, officials said.
It was not immediately known if the shooter and the couple knew each other.
