Detectives said if they fail to steal their card in the store, they'll follow the victim to the parking lot.

The latest theft took place at a store on the 1600 block of West 25th Street in San Pedro. Officers said they were able to convince a man to hand over his debit card, and they used it to withdraw cash from several ATMs.

Anyone with any information was urged to contact the LAPD’s Commercial Crimes Division, Metropolitan Financial Section Detective Franssen at 213-486-5947.
