Two rifles and a handgun were recovered during a traffic stop in Long Beach and the motorist was taken into custody, authorities said Thursday.

The traffic stop occurred about 8 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Pacific Coast Highway and Lime Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.
"During the investigation, officers recovered three firearms," according to a police statement. "The suspect was determined to be a prohibited possessor and arrested. The investigation is ongoing."
A description of the suspect was not immediately provided.
