Two Southern California doctors have created a free helpline for families of people sick with COVID-19.
Doctors right now are slammed, often not able to explain the treatment plans for patients with COVID-19 to their loved ones in terms they can understand. That’s where Dr. Lori Gold and Dr. Neil Schutz of Agoura Hills come in.
The helpline is free, and Schutz speaks what he calls medical Spanish – enough to explain complex treatments to Spanish-speakers in simple terms.
Schutz and Gold are retired, so this is how they are giving back. They don’t give medical advice, but they can talk to doctors treating the covid patient with the family’s permission.
