A shooting in a parking lot near a Long Beach strip mall sent two wounded teenage girls to a hospital, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred at 9:17 p.m. Sunday in the area of Anaheim Street and Elm Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The preliminary investigation indicated a suspect or suspects fired shots in the direction of a group of people, striking the girls, police said.
The wounds were not believed life-threatening and the teens took themselves to a hospital for treatment police said.
Video from the scene showed evidence markers where multiple shell casings were found.
Information about motive and suspects was not available.
